SLIPSTREAM CLIENT SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
FOR MACINTOSH OS X

Installation Instructions

The minimum system requirements are a Macintosh 350mhz with at least 128mb RAM and at least 5MB of hard-drive space running Macintosh OS X (any release). It is not supported by OS 9 or earlier versions of Mac OS.

1. New dial-up number

Only our statewide phone numbers support this new acceleration technology.  You must change your dial-up number to a SlipStream modem bank to use SlipStream service. 

Dial-up numbers can be found here along with instructions on how to change your dial-up phone number.

Tip: The new SlipStream statewide phone numbers all end in 1241 instead of 1240, but are otherwise the same.  Example:  Marysville (530) 216-1240 = normal dial-up | Marysville (530) 216-1241 = SlipStream only

2. Download.

    File name: SlipStream_Setup.dmg

1.   Download the installer to your desktop.
2.   Once the download has completed, proceed to Step 3.

3. Install.

 

  1. After downloading the Setup.dmg on to your desktop, an icon as shown below will be on your Desktop. Double-clicking on the icon will open the window which contains the installer.


     

  2. The installer will guide you through the complete setup process.


     
     

4. Connect.

  1. As this is your first time launching the product, you will be prompted for a username and password. Succeed.Net does not require a login for SlipStream Service since you dial a different phone number to access the SlipStream system.


     

  2. Click Save and Continue. SlipStream Web Accelerator will connect to our SlipStream Servers. 
    Note: You must already be connected to our statewide numbers ending in "1241".

  3. After installing the SlipStream Web Accelerator, an icon as shown below is placed in your Dock. Opening any web browser launches the SlipStream Web Accelerator.

     
     

5. Browse the Web.

  1. Browse to a Web site as you normally would.
  2. When finished, simply close your web browser, as you normally would, and SlipStream Web Accelerator will remain idle in your system tray.
  3. If you desire to stop the application after browsing select SlipStream from the Dock, and select the Slipstream menu and choice quit.
