Metrocell PPTP Setup for Windows XP

Important Note: To ensure customer data privacy and security, our Metrocell network employs an easy to setup PPTP VPN that is built-in to your operating system to gain access to the Internet.  If you do not set up a PPTP connection you will only be able to connect to our wireless Portal page.

Step #1: Open Network Connections

Click "Start", "Programs" -or- "All Programs", "Accessories", "Communications" then "Network connections"

Step #2: Start the Connection Wizard

Within "Network Connections": Click "File", then "New Connection"

Step #3: Network Connection Type

Select "Connect to a Network at my work place", then click "Next"

Step #4: Network Connection

Select "Virtual Private Network Connection", then click "Next"

Step #5: Connection Name

Enter in "Succeed.Net" in company name and click "Next"

Step #6: VPN Server Selection

Enter the IP address "192.168.1.51", then click "Next"

Step #7: Complete Wizard

Select "Add a shortcut....." and click "Finish"

Step #8: Connecting

Enter in your "username@succeed.net" and your "password". Click "Save this user...." and select "Anyone who uses....", then click "Connect"

FYI: Once connected you will see the following icon in your system tray.

(the enlarged ICON on the left is the VPN)

Note: To connect in the future, simply click on the icon located on your desktop.
