Why I
must have "Line of Sight"?
Wireless Internet access is based on low power radio signals in
unlicensed microwave spectrums. Because of this there is
limits to what the signal may be obstructed by. Even though
you are in our coverage area, it does not mean you can get a
connection. You must have clear line of sight from the
location you wish to receive the Wireless service that is not
obstructed by trees, other buildings or any other physical blockage
to one of our towers. Some are smaller towers that are 80-150'
or our main Sutter Buttes Mountain tower. This is the
only limit it shares with Satellite TV dishes and Satellite Internet
services. There are various ways to overcome these
obstacles, such as: Mounting to existing towers or TV masts,
installing towers, removing trees, etc. Overcoming obstacles
to line of sight issues are not included with any standard
installation.
